Your Tasks
- Own architectural decisions in the categories the AI Lead defers on.
- Lead the design and build of permission enforcement at retrieval time.
- Design and operate the model gateway as platform-grade infrastructure.
- Establish evaluation methodology, benchmarks, and the "ready to ship" bar for AI applications.
- Mentor the other senior engineers and run technical reviews.
- Partner with the Data team's senior engineers on the semantic layer interface.
- Engage with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Platform Engineering as the AI team's senior technical voice.
- Contribute to hiring of subsequent engineers.
- Operate AI team-built components and carry on-call responsibility.
Your Profile
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with deep hands-on experience delivering production LLM/AI application systems (multiple systems shipped and operated), or a strong retrieval, evaluation, model-infrastructure, search, or data-platform background with a demonstrated transition to production LLM delivery.
- Demonstrated depth in at least two of the following: permission-aware retrieval over enterprise data, evaluation methodology for LLM applications, model infrastructure or gateways at production scale, agent or workflow infrastructure, knowledge-graph construction.
- Production RAG experience: tuned, evaluated, and operated under real load, not just an out-of-the-box setup.
